Our BAC-SM Aluminum Surface Mount Floor Door offers a cost-effective solution by providing access to underground vaults without requiring a flush-mounted door.
This access panel is straightforward and secured to install with its concealed internal mounting flange and hidden stainless steel hinges. Moreover, it has a weathertight perimeter gasketing and fully welded padlock hasp that prevents any dirt and contaminants from infiltrating. Lastly, it is available in the mill to finish aluminum construction, making this access door very durable.
This BAC-SM is very easy to use and has engineered lift assistance that enables smooth, easy one-hand door operation. It is durable, and its diamond-pattern tread plate reinforced can withstand 105 psf (513 kg/m2) live load. Depending on your preference, we have a stainless steel stop chain for optional customization in place of the hold-open arm and gas strut lifting mechanism. You can also choose if you want safety posts & chains to provide areaway fall protection when the cover is open.

Gasket : Extruded EPDM rubber gasket permanently adhered to cover
Hinges : Heavy-duty, stainless steel pintle hinges with 3/8" (9 mm) type 316 stainless steel hinge pins
Latch : Type 316 stainless steel slam lock with fixed interior handle and removable exterior turn/lift handle. Latch release is protected by a flush, gasketed, removable screw plug.
